| Nestled in the fertile rolling hills and
sparkling fresh air of central Arkansas, Iron Horse Farm represents the
ultimate in the care and training of thoroughbreds. This 495 acre facility
was conceived and designed to provide the perfect atmosphere necessary for
the total development of a horse's potential.
The finest staff available in the south-west has been assembled at Iron Horse Farm to provide the best possible breeding, training and boarding programs. Much of this staff permanently resides in five staff facilities on the farm. All boarding and training records are computer-maintained for accuracy. All paddocks and pastures offer ample space for exercise and development. Most paddocks are double fenced and have abundant grass on a year-round basis. All have run-in sheds and are equipped with automatic watering facilities. Paddocks used for mares and foals contain creep feeders. Top quality supplementary feeding programs individually designed for horses in training, broodmares and young developing thoroughbreds are employed by Iron Horse Farm. Our training facility consists of two interconnected 18-stall barns with concrete floored tack and feed rooms and automatic insect-control systems. a 14-foot asphalt aisle separates the 14' x 14' stalls of the training barns. Both ceiling-mounted exhaust fans and individual fans at each stall assure summer comfort for our pampered guests. The centerpiece of Iron Horse Farm is the finest training track in the southwest. Reconstructed by Horsemen's Track and Equipment Company of Lexington, it features a natural rock-free clay base covered with washed river sand recommended and tested by Joe King, Supervisor of Race Courses for the New York Racing Association. An electric starting gate serves a 5/8 mile track with a 1/2 mile oval and a 1/8 mile chute. The track is 40 feet wide with an angled inside rail constructed of steel. |
